Today at Web 2.0 expo Mike Arrington announced Techcrunch 20.  A conference to showcase the hottest 20 startups.  It will be held at the Palace Hotel in SF in September.

At his site he says…The format is simple: Twenty of the hottest new startups from around the world will announce and demo their products over a two day period at TechCrunch20. And they don’t pay a cent to do this. They will be selected to participate based on merit alone.

Congrats to Mike and Techcrunch.  I watched Mike start Techcrunch in 2005 and he has build a great franchise.  Next up for Mike to create an innovative conference format.
